The house & history

Designed in the
first chapter of LeDroit Park.

Architect James H. McGill designed the brick Gothic Revival house and its matching carriage house during LeDroit Park's original development in the 1870s.

The surviving illustrations were published in McGill's Architectural Advertiser in 1880. Today, 1922 Third Street remains part of the nationally recognized LeDroit Park Historic District and sits along Washington's Worthy Ambition heritage trail.
